I joined a 4 week zoom breathwork course with Nadine from Calma na Alma and wow, it totally opened my mind to the different functions and benefits of being more conscious with my breathing…

I never realised just how much I take breathing for granted. Now I have a full toolkit of different breathing exercises to practice to help with calming my mind and heart rate to better deal with stressful situations. And I understand how my breathing impacts the effectiveness of my workouts and the different techniques I can use to maximise the impact of my training before, during and after a work out – these are all things I just had zero knoweldge about. Nadine has such a calm teaching manner and explains things so they’re understandable – I do not have a head for science and biology so I was surprised how much information I retained. There was also a really nice balance of explanation and guided practice. And actually zoom is a perfect way to learn this because you can practice without feeling self-conscious about the volume of your breath and really engage in each practical session – especially good if you’re a bit shy like me!
